Putin orders to cut number of business inspections by Dec 1

MOSCOW, Aug 21 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the government to introduce amendments to the legislation to reduce the number of business inspections by December 1, according to a relevant ruling published on the Kremlin’s Web site on August 19.

According to the ruling, the number of unscheduled inspections should not exceed 30% of the planned inspections and the period of the inspections should be reduced to 10 days.

“To the government of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation: to ensure introduction of amendments to the Russian legislation that encompass limiting the number of annual unscheduled inspections held by every supervisory body at legal entities and individual entrepreneurs (no more than 30% of the number of planned inspections envisaged by the annual plan of scheduled inspections of every supervisory body),” the document said.

The amendments will not apply to unscheduled inspections initiated in connection with causing harm to life or health of people, harm to animals, plants, environment or cultural heritage sites.

Putin also ordered the government and Russia’s Supreme Court to study an issue of preventing extension of arrest of entrepreneurs if there is no active investigation.

The order should be implemented by November 15.
